I don’t know about you, but in my books there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Watching google trends today, I see a “VOLCANIC” increase of searches to foundmoney.com.
I ponder what has sparked this, or who? It’s amazing how media feeds one another - as it is quiet obvious some sort of media coverage on foundmoney.com has sparked an interest for googlers. In my mind I have no doubt the concept is a scam, feeding on the desperate of and greedy.

So I signed myself up today for the snazzy new 6 GB data plan and ordered me an iPhone. Of course when I got to the store the 16 GB version had been sold out - so I decided to call off the wild goose chase and just order it through Fido’s *611 - that’s when I got through. It’s still pretty unclear as to what you can and cannot do with this plan, but in my opinion there’s no way they can start signing people onto contracts without disclosing any limiting terms and conditions. I’m afraid that it is for 3G data only, hence if i attempt to do WAP browsing on my current phone until the iPhone arrives - will I get a big bill? Stay tuned for more on the Rogers/Fido iPhone saga…

An interesting turn of events today, but it’s just still not enough. Rogers and Fido have released further information on its new data rates. This confirms there are other options than just the iPhone data plan - existing iPhone users wont be “Screwed” after all - sort of…

Last week, I touched on a new BitTorrent “relay” or proxy service:
“…spear-headed by Seneca College student Kevin Kowalewski, bringing seamless BitTorrent integration to just about any device that employs a web browser - all without installing any additional software and regardless of the device’s operating system.”
Although in the Terms of Service the TorrentRelay denies any and all liability for the types of files they facilitate the transferring of, one has to look at the situation from another stance. The recent shutdown of newsgroups on major U.S ISP’s clearing indicates there is some sort of moral obligation in offering a service. Just because a vet puts down animals does not mean he can put down a human, yes this is an over-the-top example with little or no direct correlation to the subject at hand; But if u look at it from another perspective you might see that the termination of the dog is very similar to that of transferring legal files, the norm. The killing of a human being on the other hand, can be compared to facilitating the distribution of pirated materials - a crime against man-kind in the eyes of the recording industry of course.
My question in, how long can this service last with the enormous bandwidth constraints and possible legal obligations down the road? Only time will tell…

This is why I like Virgin’s 3 strike policy, Branson’s laid back yet logical leadership really does show through. And some more consumer crushing by the music industry…
“Ms. Lindor is much like any one of the 20,000-plus individuals who received monetary demands from the music industry. Suspected of uploading or sharing copyrighted works on a P2P network, Mr. Lindor found herself in a legal dispute against the music label UMG. The case differs, however, when last month UMG filed a motion to have their case against her dismissed with prejudice.”
